As the year starts to wind down, so do big trade shows. There are still some decent regional events happening throughout the rest of the year that we will be attending but nothing major in the broadcast space. We all need time to close out the year, slow down (not too slow though), and spend time with our family. NAB New York signals this seasonal change. There were still some good updates and new products to see.
This year JB&A had a booth with gear from partners we work with every day, showcasing the latest innovations from Bolin Technology and Vizrt, while also connecting with others like VIDA, SNS, and Ross Video. Here is what stood out.
Booth JB&A
Our booth was packed full of innovation and cool gear from some of our most premier vendors. If you stopped by, you probably saw two big headliners.
Bolin Technology
Bolin Technology brought their newest R9 Series professional studio PTZ cameras, built for cinematic quality and robust integration across broadcast workflows. Alongside the R9, Bolin also showed off their rugged EX Ultra outdoor PTZ camera line, purpose-built for harsh environments without sacrificing image quality or remote control capability. The R9 and EX Ultra really show how far PTZ has come. They are high performance, flexible, and ready for broadcast.
Vizrt
Vizrt drew a lot of attention with Vizion and Viz Connect Audio. This was the first time many of us saw the Vizion and Viz Connect Audio in person. Vizion is a new take on software-driven live production in the TriCaster family, built for scalability and easy deployment. Viz Connect Audio adds another layer by managing audio for cloud or hybrid setups without overcomplicating things. It’s the kind of update that makes everyday workflows smoother instead of more confusing, which is always appreciated.

But wait there’s more! There was much more “JB&A” to see besides our booth. Let’s take a look.
VIDA – new playbook for automation
Our friend Tim from VIDA stopped by our booth many times to talk about what they’ve been working on, and it’s something that caught my attention. They’ve added what they call “Agentic AI” to their platform, which essentially means smarter, more adaptive automation. Instead of just following a list of tasks, the system can actually make decisions and optimize workflows as it runs. They’re rolling this out under a new name: Media Factory. It’s aimed at studios and content teams who move a lot of media and need a way to keep everything flowing efficiently without adding more manual work. It’s the next step forward in automated media management.
Ross – routing and control made human
Ross rolled into NAB NY with a clear message: make routing and control less of a beast and more of a tool that works for you. The spotlight was on their NRG platform, a next-generation SDI routing system built with UHD support, an optional software multiviewer, and an interface that doesn’t require you to be a signal engineer to use it.
They also emphasized “software-defined workflows” and “hyper-converged solutions” like the Carbonite HyperMax to bridge the gap between traditional broadcast gear and cloud/hybrid setups. I know these sound like buzzwords but it’s about simplifying what used to be complex so that teams can focus on the production, not the plumbing.
What I liked: Ross isn’t trying to hide the complexity, but they are trying to tame it. If you’ve been wrestling with routing matrices, signal paths, or control panels that look like cockpit dashboards, the gear they showed is a breath of fresh air.
SNS – smarter shared storage and new tools for teams
SNS had a strong presence this year showing updates to their EVO shared storage line. EVO continues to be one of the most flexible and creative-friendly systems out there, and the new feature set pushes it even further. They’ve added improvements to collaboration tools, cloud connectivity, and automation that make it easier for teams to manage projects across multiple locations.
One of the newer things they’ve been working on is Outpost, which gives remote users access to EVO storage without a lot of setup or slow transfer headaches. It’s a good option for hybrid teams who still want the feel of working off shared storage without being in the same building.
SNS is also starting to expand their training and certification programs. They’ve been putting real effort into education lately, which is great to see because shared storage is often the backbone of production, but not everyone knows how to get the most out of it. Helping resellers and end users understand how to properly design and maintain these systems is a huge win for the industry as a whole.
Anyways…
NAB New York might not be as flashy as Vegas, but that’s kind of the point. It’s a show built around real conversations and hands-on demos. For JB&A, it’s a chance to wrap up the year by showing complete workflows and talking through what’s next with our partners and customers.
Having Bolin and Vizrt in the booth made it easy to demonstrate full solutions at one stop, and getting face time with VIDA, SNS, and Ross rounded out the story with storage, automation, and control.
